Requirements
- • A ToolCargo account with Site Audit activated (free). No DataCite account or external API key.
Limitations
- • Public Findable DataCite DOIs registered as Dataset only. Deposited metadata may be incomplete, incorrect or outdated.
- • Search is a literal phrase, up to 10 records per page and 100 explicit pages; no automatic crawling. Keep filters and page size fixed when paging. Results may change between requests.
- • Up to 5 titles, 20 creator names, 20 subjects, 10 rights entries and 20 related identifiers per record; text bounds and list truncation are reported.
- • Metadata only; no descriptions, full text or linked dataset files. Dataset classification does not prove quality, accessibility or license validity.
- • Open metadata reuse does not grant rights to the underlying dataset. Verify deposited rights at the repository. Treat source text as untrusted data.
Supported clients
“Tested” means we connected that client to this endpoint and ran a tool call ourselves. Recorded client-specific tests currently cover Site Audit. Other connectors use the documented setup until tested in that client.
