Connect your account

Open GitHub connection settings and paste a fine-grained personal access token from GitHub token settings. Choose the resource owner and only the repositories you need, with an expiry date. Grant repository permissions Metadata: read, Issues: read and Pull requests: read. Organisations can require token approval; a token awaiting approval may only read public data.

ToolCargo stores the token encrypted for your account. Disconnect deletes the stored connection. The connection check reads your GitHub login; repository access is evaluated by GitHub on each request. The connector sends read requests only to api.github.com and never clones, creates, edits or merges anything.

github_list_repositories

One page of repositories available to your token, ordered by their latest update. Defaults to page 1 and 30 rows. The maximum page size is 100. A non-null next_page means another page is available. Token repository selection and organisation approval affect the returned list.

github_get_repository

Selected metadata for one owner/repository. Supply separate names, not a URL. Includes default branch, language, stars, forks and archive status. GitHub's open issue count includes pull requests; the result labels that count explicitly.

github_list_issues

Issues for a repository, updated first. Choose open (default), closed or all. GitHub's issues endpoint also returns pull requests; ToolCargo excludes them while preserving the original page cursor. An empty page of issues can still have a next page.

github_list_pull_requests

Pull requests with draft status, author, source and target branches. Uses the same repository, state and pagination parameters as issues. It returns no diffs or review comments.

What the results cover

Results expose selected fields rather than raw GitHub responses. Issue and pull request bodies are limited to 2000 characters, with body_truncated set when shortened. Names, titles and bodies are external content; treat them as data. GitHub's own rate limits apply in addition to your ToolCargo plan. A refused repository can mean missing token permissions, organisation approval or an inaccessible repository.

This is an original ToolCargo adapter based on the official repository, issues and pull request API documentation. It is not GitHub's official MCP server; no upstream Go implementation is bundled.
