Airtable official MCP server setup

Review a project tracker without changing its records.

Connect your AI client directly to Airtable. This is a vendor-operated server, separate from ToolCargo’s hosted connectors. A ToolCargo key or subscription does not grant access to it.

Connection URL

Airtable official remote URL
https://mcp.airtable.com/mcp

Use a client that supports the vendor’s remote transport and authentication. Consult the official Airtable instructions for your client’s current configuration.

Account and permissions

Airtable account authorization; personal access token setup is also documented by Airtable.

Existing base access; organization administrators may need to allowlist the integration. MCP is included in current Airtable plans and uses their existing API limits.

Choose the smallest account access needed. The example below requests read-only work; wording alone does not prevent writes. Review the tools, granted permissions and your client’s approval settings.

Set up and check a small result

  1. Add the official remote URL to a compatible MCP client and follow Airtable’s authorization flow.
  2. Select only the bases needed for the task. For read-only access, use read-only account permissions or the read scopes documented by Airtable.
  3. List the tools, then read a small sample from a base you can open yourself. Compare the returned record IDs and dates against that base.

Try this workflow

Read-only starter prompt
In my selected project tracker, show at most 10 overdue tasks with their record IDs and due dates. Read only; do not create, edit or delete records.

If access is denied or data is missing, check the selected account, resource permissions and vendor limits before retrying. Keep record or node references so you can verify the answer in the original application.

What has been checked?

Vendor documentation checked 2026-10-06. ToolCargo has not authenticated an account or verified an end-to-end call for this guide. Provider plans, permissions and rate limits still apply; directory discovery does not make the provider service free.
